I Survived Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Kickstart Quests and All I Got Was This Lousy XP

Yes, I know it is 2026 and Fortnite has since added approximately 47 new ways to shoot me in the face, but I still get misty-eyed about Chapter 5 Season 2’s Kickstart Quests. They were basically a guided tour of Greek mythology, questionable swimming water, and chests that refused to be normal. Each quest paid 10K XP, which is the kind of number that makes my Battle Pass brain purr like a well-fed cat.

Here is the thing: these quests are not hard, but a few of them made me stare at the map like a confused pigeon. So I am laying out every objective, where to go, and what I learned after falling off Mount Olympus more times than I would like to admit. Think of me as your mildly incompetent tour guide with a clipboard and a suspicious amount of confidence.

Quest What I Did XP
Search an Olympus Chest or Underworld Chest Went to The Underworld, Grim Gate, Mount Olympus, or Brawler’s Battleground and opened one special chest. 10K
Collect bars at named locations Grabbed 100 gold bars at any named location. I treated it like a very violent shopping spree. 10K
Find and accept SHADOW Briefings Found three one-use computer terminals and accepted them. They replaced Bounty Boards and each does something different, like bounty, supply drop, or vehicle. 10K
Dash 3 times in 10 seconds while affected by Underworld Dash Swam in the green water in or around The Underworld and Grim Gate, then mashed the jump button three times in 10 seconds. 10K
Use a Mod Bench inside a Weapons Bunker Walked into a new Weapons Bunker and used the Mod Bench once. I modded a gun I did not need and left with dignity. Mostly. 10K
Hit an opponent with Wings of Icarus Dive Bomb attack Flew around with Wings of Icarus and dive-bombed an opponent. Bots count, which saved my ego. 10K
Damage opponents with Thunderbolt of Zeus Zapped opponents for 200 damage total. Bots count here too, and I absolutely took advantage of that. 10K
Challenge an Olympian Boss at an Altar Challenged Zeus, Ares, Hades, or Cerberus at an Altar. I chose Hades and immediately questioned my life choices. 10K

The chest quest is the easiest excuse to visit the new points of interest. These are not regular chests. They are shiny VIP boxes with a god complex, and they only show up in The Underworld, Grim Gate, Mount Olympus, and Brawler’s Battleground. I opened exactly one, felt powerful, and then got chased by someone with better aim and worse manners.

Gold bars at named locations is simple if you remember the key phrase: named locations. I spent a solid minute collecting bars in the middle of nowhere before realizing the game was not going to pat me on the head. Once I hit an actual named spot, the counter climbed to 100 and the quest popped. Easy XP, minor embarrassment.

SHADOW Briefings are the sneaky little terminals that replaced Bounty Boards. They are one-use computers scattered around the map, and each one gives you something different: a bounty, a supply drop, or a vehicle. You need to accept three of them. I accepted three and immediately forgot what two of them did, which is basically my standard operating procedure.

The Underworld Dash quest sounds fancy until you realize you are just splashing around in green water like a caffeinated frog. You get the effect from the green water in and around The Underworld and Grim Gate. Then you use your jump button to dash three times in 10 seconds. I did it on the first try, which means the bar for feeling like a gaming genius is now officially underground.

Using a Mod Bench inside a Weapons Bunker is a one-and-done objective. The Mod Benches moved into the new Weapons Bunkers, and you only need to use one once. I walked in, modded a weapon, and walked out like I owned the place. I did not own the place. Someone else was definitely waiting outside.

Wings of Icarus Dive Bomb is where the season got spicy. Wings of Icarus is a powerful movement item that lets you fly around and dive-bomb opponents. You only need to hit an opponent once, and bots count. My first attempt involved flying directly into a tree. My second attempt involved bonking a bot on the head. The quest completed, and my dignity remained at roughly 12 percent.

Thunderbolt of Zeus wants you to deal 200 damage to opponents, bots included. I zapped people, missed people, and zapped a wall that I am pretty sure was minding its own business. Eventually the damage added up. The lesson here is that Zeus does not care about your aim; he cares about your persistence.

Finally, challenging an Olympian Boss at an Altar means picking a fight with Zeus, Ares, Hades, or Cerberus. You do not have to win. You just have to challenge them at one of the Altars. I challenged Hades, screamed internally, and completed the quest. In 2026, these Kickstart Quests are old enough to have their own nostalgia playlist, but if you are cleaning up old objectives or feeling retro, this guide should save you from my personal greatest hits of confusion. 😅
